ASSIST Energy Solutions Corp. (“ASSIST”) is advancing the commercialization of a proprietary Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) process designed to recover untapped heavy oil reserves. At the core of this solution is the Submerged Combustion Vaporizer (“SCV”)—a portable, high-efficiency process facility built to stimulate non-thermal wells under high-temperature conditions.

As a key step toward commercialization, ASSIST is conducting a field trial of the SCV process on heavy oil wells. This phase will validate the system’s performance under real-world conditions, confirming operational reliability, recovery efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

The technology validation process will demonstrate the SCV’s readiness for broader deployment and support the company’s move into offering fee-for-service reservoir stimulation.

ASSIST was formed to meet the growing demand for low-cost, rapidly deployable EOR solutions. With up to 90% of recoverable reserves still left behind after primary production, the opportunity to stimulate thousands of underperforming heavy oil wells across Alberta and Saskatchewan is significant.

ASSIST holds the exclusive worldwide license to commercialize the SCV technology. The company is owned 24% by Regenera Insights and 76% by Thermal Recovery Technologies Inc. (“TRT”).

TRT is a joint venture between two partner companies that co-developed the SCV process. TRT also leads R&D in steam generation, carbon capture, oil and water treatment, and equipment manufacturing.
